In this research work proposal, new treatment technique will be introduced by applying multi-stage ozonation and biological treatment process for azo dye wastewater treatment. In advanced, the multi-stage advance oxidation process (AOP)-biological treatment process will also compare with the multi-stage ozonation-biological treatment process. The experiment will be scaling up from laboratory scale to laboratory plant scale mode. In detail, the objectives of the research are to evaluate the performance of multistage ozonation / AOP and biological treatment for colour, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal of dye industry effluent. Laboratory scale plant of ozonation / AOP and biological treatment will be developed from laboratory scale experiment. Finally, the characteristic change of organic contaminant in dye industry effluent and effect of pH on ozonation and AOP performance will also be investigated.
