    Abstract
Lipases produced by using agro-industrial residual or waste as substrate become interesting topic among the researchers. The aim of this study was to produce lipases by valorization the Jatropha solid waste as substrate for fermentation. Jatropha solid waste can provide the best carbon among various carbohydrates because it is inexpensive, pure and available in mass supply. Aspergillus niger was selected by presenting the best enzymatic production. The process parameter investigated were incubation time (1-6days), initial moisture content (59.52%, 65.57%, 74.76% and 79.4%) and temperature (27oC, 30oC, 35oC, 37oC and 40oC). The highest lipase activity was achieved on the 5th day of fermentation (192.67 U/g of substrate) at 37°C, pH 8.0 and 59.52% initial substrate moisture. These results confirmed the interesting potential of solid state fermentation because the higher activities obtained in this type fermentation.
