This paper proposes the technique for developing a copper rotor for AC induction motor. A simple substitution of copper for aluminum in the rotor conductor bars will generally provide a significant reduction in I²R losses, and thereby an increase in motor efficiency. This technique focuses on the rotor with squirrel-cage design, referring to the class specified by National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). This paper describes the flow and steps to design and fabricate a squirrel-cage copper rotor.en_US
