Finite element analysis on fibre glass reinforced epaxy (FRGE)has been investigated in this paper to predict the ratcheting responses for a broad set of uniaxial loading histories. The investigations have been performed with reference to both uniaxial and biaxial experimental data in previous work, viz. (a) stress controlled uniaxial test on FGRE tensile specimen and (b) biaxial test on FGRE straight pipe with constant internal pressure and cyclic axial displacement. The finite element model in ABAQUS has been simulated in similar loading cases. The uniaxial and biaxial ratchetting strain were observed to increase with a number of cycles but decreased the rate of ratchetting. The FRGE models showed no experiment and simulations, it appears that ratchetting would occur displacement with no ratchetting observed in axial direction. Ratchetting simulation studies by the ABAQUS model have resulted in reasonably good agreement with experiments.
