    Abstract
Soil resistivity data is the key factor in designing a grounding system for a specific performance objective like a climate factor. All soil conducts electrical current, with some soil having good electrical conductivity while the majority has poor electrical conductivity. The resistivity of soil varies widely throughout the world and change dramatically within small areas. Soil resistivity is mainly influenced by the type of soil (loam, shale, etc), moisture content, the amount of electrolyte (mineral and dissolved salts) and finally temperature (climate factor). When designing a grounding system for a specific performance objective, it is necessary to accurately measure the soil resistivity of the site where the ground is to be installed. Probability the most significant short term changes to soil resistivity are causes by recent weather or climate. It is established that up saturation, increased water content of any soil or rock will increased it conductivity. Also the conductivity of soil generally increased with temperature.
