    Abstract
The main objective of this project is to design and construct a simple dc motor. Basically, there have a seven main part of the dc motor, which is armature, commutator, carbon brush, armature winding, field magnet, shaft and dc power supply. The armature dc motor is assembly of the conductor and wound into two separate sets of windings, connected to a commutator at the end of the shaft that are in constant touch with carbon brushes. The brushes are static, and the commutator rotate and as the portions of the commutator touching the respective positive or negative polarity brush will energize the respective part of the armature with the respective polarity. There are two permanent magnet are assembly between the armature in horizontally and produce the magnetic field. Dc power supply will provide the electric current pass through the conductor and create an electromagnetic field around them. The interaction between the electromagnetic field and magnetic field, it will create a force proportional to the current in the conductor, and the strength of the external magnetic field. The direction of the force can be finding by using the Fleming’s left hand rule. Which is index finger in the direction of magnetic flux, middle finger along the direction of the current and the thumb finger is in the direction of the force.
