    Abstract
This project is presents the design and development of a microstrip resonator for bandstop microwave filter. The shape of the resonator is focused on L-type as it is coupled to the main transmission line and able to resonate in a specific frequencies. Besides, the microstrip technology are economical, far lighter and compact compared to the other technology. This project focused on designing microstrip bandstop filter at 2.4 GHz. Advanced Design System (ADS) software is used to determine and analyze some of the characteristic parameters such as spacing between the transmission lines. It can determine the S-parameters of the frequency response such as insertion loss S21 (dB) and return loss, S11 (dB). The filter can be used widely for spread spectrum radar from 1 GHz to 5GHz without interfere with general ISM band, at 2.4 GHz.
