This paper presents an analysis of
numerical child dummy neck and neck injury
analysis of the numerical child dummy neck.
The neck model is developed using flexible
component and rigid body. As for the geometries
of the child dummy neck, the measurement was
taken from Malaysian child and statistical
analysis has been performed to obtain the
desired measurement.
A static load experiment was performed in order
to verify the development of numerical child
dummy neck after completed the design and
meshing. Based on the static load experiment
and simulation, the stress and displacement at
the neck was calculated to evaluate compression
and tension of the child’s neck during crash.
This parameter was used for most injuries to the
neck, and it is one of the best predictor of neck
injury.
