dc.description.abstract | The project that had been handled is ‘Effect of Human Activities on Water Quality
of Perlis River’. This study conducted to observe the effect of anthropogenic on Perlis
River water quality. The study focused on determination and classification according an
INWQS for water quality index (WQI) parameters such as BOD, COD, TSS, NH3N, DO
and pH at 6 sampling point, marked as SP. Sampling of water samples were made from
December 2009 until January 2010 according to APHA method, Spectrophotometry
method and Nessler method. From analysis, the value of parameter at 6 sampling points are
ranges from 7.02 to 7.77 for pH, 1.20 mg/L to 3.74 for NH3N, 2.73 mg/L to 5.69 mg/L for
DO, 34.33 mg/L to 227.17 mg/L for COD, 3.46 mg/L to 6.86 mg/L for BOD, and 191.00
mg/L to 386.33 mg/L for TSS. From these values, it shows that water quality of Perlis
River is polluted and the values exceed the level of INWQS. | en_US |
