| dc.description.abstract | Rainwater Catchment System is a system that collects rainfall from the catchment area and will be store in the water storage tank. This rainfall collection will be used as the
water sources for activities such cooking, washing, bathing, drinking and others activities that involved water utilization. This system is very popular and mostly being applied at urban places such as Australia, India, Singapore, Brazil and others. Since this system is not yet being popular in Malaysia, for the start level in Malaysia, this system was only used for outdoor activities such watering garden, washing cars and other outdoor activities. In this project, the selection for the suitable material and type of storage tank in the installation of the roof for Rainwater Catchment System is explained based on the
mechanical properties, physical properties, environment effects and costing and maintenance. The selection of material for the storage tank is very important to determine the toughness of the system through the mechanical and physical properties.
