Design and development an external shell for Go-kart
Abstract
In this project report, it will show why the external shell design of a go-kart is considered one of the strategies used by mechanical design engineers to compete with other go-kart. In order to investigate this component affect of overall drag, a detailed numerical
test has been conducted by means of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) calculation software. Competition vehicles optimization requires a deep knowledge of physical phenomena involved. In this project report, it will focusing on a design and develops external shell or body for a go-kart not only for it sporty and dynamic appearance but also considering the aerodynamic study such as the lift and the drag force and also the characteristic of stream function and dynamic pressure that act on this external shell. The optimized mathematical model has been used for the analysis of the sensibility of the performances to the manifold factors, with the purpose to define the best configuration for the maximum speed of the vehicle.
