Electrical installation design for low voltage system (Kg Wai laboratory)
Abstract
This Final Year Project is proposed to design a reliable low voltage electrical
installation system for Kg. Wai Laboratory. This was a software base project, AutoCAD
software was the only software used for electrical drawing for this building. The load
calculation, sizing cable, main switchboard and power factor correction board design is
considered in the design of low voltage electrical installation system. This design was
referred based on the IEE Wiring Regulation 17th Edition, International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC) Regulation, Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) standard and some code of
practices. Regulations are optimization tools to ensure secure and efficient operation of
the electric power system. Design standards and regulation are fixed for every project
but design requirements to suit architecture layout differs for various type of projects.
The best distribution system is the one that supply adequate electric service to both
present and future probable loads effectively and safely, often the key to the success of a
power system design starts with a thorough understanding of the owner’s needs.
