    Abstract
The main aim of this project is to build a power factor correction circuit. The said circuit is built by using a PIC, namely PIC18F452 together with other commonly used hardwares. To program the PIC, a PIC programming software which is MikroC pro is used to write the necessary codes, which are the codes for zero crossing and the code for power factor calculation. The constructed circuit managed to function and give some results. In order to optimize the results gained from this project, a few tweaks are needed to be made, for instance adjusting the coding and using different types of capacitor banks. This circuit still has a large room for improvement in order for it to function properly.
