dc.description.abstract | This paper discus on the production of flavonones, one of the flavonoids compounds that correlated with antioxidants activities in callus culture of pomelo. This is an alternative strategy of producing natural antioxidants without sacrificing part of plants. Flavonones was detected as naringin and hesperidin using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). There are three types of media were used to investigate their capability to produce the highest callus biomass. It was found that growth of callus was preferable on medium supplied with 1925 mg/l of nitrate and 60 g/l of sucrose. For both combinations, the result showed that it can give the best hesperidin accumulation (22.861 and 69.923 mg/l). The maximum productivity of hesperidin can be accumulated by seven days of incubation period. Naringin however was maximize with supplementation of 1925 mg/l nitrate (18.676 mg/l) and 90 g/l (33.876 mg/l) sucrose within the same duration time of incubation period. | en_US |
