    Abstract
This research was performed in the form of experimental study about sandwich panel composite structure. The sandwich specimen was prepared in configuration of Jute/Epoxy/Honeycomb Nomex, Jute/Epoxy/Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) foam, Jute/Epoxy/Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) foam and Jute/Epoxy/Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). The aim of this research is to evaluate the mechanical behavior of sandwich panel composite with different core material by conducting the low velocity impact test and flexural test (three point bending). The result for low velocity impact test show that the MDF board sandwich specimen has a higher peak force but less displacement and time taken for specimen to completely damage. The peak force for MDF board sandwich specimen is 5.31 kN at displacement 15mm and time taken is 10 ms. 10.2 J energy absorption by MDF board sandwich specimen is the higher compare to the others sandwich specimen. The damage formation occurs after low velocity impact test is rebounding type for MDF board sandwich specimens while perforation type was occurring on other sandwich specimens. The failure mode of fiber fracture and core crushing was identified on a PVC foam, PET foam and Honeycomb Nomex sandwich specimens. Meanwhile, the result for flexural test show that the MDF board sandwich specimen has a higher force but less displacement. The maximum force is 603.795 N and displacement at 7.666 mm. The stress of MDF board is 75.04 MPa at stress 1.748%. MDF board sandwich specimen has a higher flexural modulus, 75.04 MPa and flexural modulus 4589.8MPa. The failure mode occurs on a specimen after 3 point bending is tensile crack and core crushing. The best mechanical properties is MDF board sandwich specimen because it can withstand a high force and can absorb a high energy among the others sandwich specimen.
