    Abstract
The purpose of this project is to design and develop an extraction and filtering system for Misai Kucing tea in Frutania Company. Extraction and filtering process is one of the major process for product Misai Kucing tea where currently using a manual system to extract and filter the tea leaves in Frutania Company. Extraction and filtering system is developed to increase the productivity rate and reduce manpower for Misai Kucing tea processing. Besides that, ergonomics in the system to reduce the risk of injury to operators and workers. In designing the extraction and filtering system, some of the parameter and criteria need to be considered such as productivity rate, ergonomics, cost, flexibility and ease of maintenances. There are several conceptual design were proposed and the best conceptual design will be selected by using Pugh’s method and weighted matrix method. The material and the manufacturing process of each parts will be selected by the method of Design for Manufacture (DFM). The efficiency between the existing and new design was described and the implemented system should test in a real-world environment to validate the system functionality. To test the efficiency of this extraction and filtering system, the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the force analysis. Also, the calculation of force applied and motor analysis are shown in engineering analysis to validate the system functionality in real-world. After that, a functional prototype is fabricated, test and modified. The productivity rate of new invention for extraction and filtering will be increased
