dc.description.abstract | In this era, concrete is one of the most important construction materials used throughout the world especially for the construction sector. This study examined the effects that occur in terms of workability and strength of concrete after the replacement of cement
with Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) and superplasticizer to the concrete. POFA based cement concrete mix produced by POFA as pozzolan in concrete. POFA quality increased in size to 50 micron. POFA was pulverized to be used to replace Portland cement by 10%, 15% and 20% by weight percent. POFA concrete compressive strength test after undergoing the process of curing concrete until the age of 7, 14 and 28 days. Furthermore, the superplasticizer was used in this mixture. Used in the mixing of concrete superplasticizers play an important role in producing high-strength concrete and quality. Superplasticizers are additive, which is blended into the concrete mix in small doses. The total content of superplasticizer used is 10%, 15% and 20% per POFA concrete. The results showed that the strength of concrete with superplasticizer POFA lower than ordinary concrete. Instead
of replacing cement by 15% POFA shows the highest record in compressive strength compared to the mix of 10% and 20% POFA. In this study, water absorption tests were performed on each sample of concrete. This test is done when the concrete has attained the age of 7, 14 and 28 days. Based on the results obtained, POFA 15% is a suitable replacement for a high compressive strength results in experimental and potentially could replace cement. | en_US |
