dc.description.abstract | The Cu50-Ti50 powders were prepared in this project in terms of glass formability and kinetic behaviour with the addition of Ni on different percentages (X= 5%, 10%) by mechanical alloying using planetary ball mill. Before milling the sample, the weight of each element must first calculated in order to determine appropriate weight in the jar of the planetary mill. There are four sample were prepared where two sample with 5% milled for 6 and 8 hours while the two powders with 10% nickel addition milled at the same duration. The powders then were characterized for its amorphous properties and morphology by using XRD (X-ray diffraction) and SEM (scanning electron microscope). The XRD data analysis shows that all four samples did not possess amorphous structure even after being milled for 8 hours. The SEM micrograph also show the particle sizes and shape become larger and more spherical after long duration of milling. | en_US |
