The effect of Alumina and Silica with iron ore on reduction behaviour
Abstract
The effect of alumina and silica with iron ore on reduction behaviour was investigated at temperature of 900˚C, 1000˚C, 1100˚C and 1200˚C. X-ray diffraction was used to determine the phase transformation of iron ore, changing from hematite to reduced
iron. While EDX used to determine the mass percentage of spotted area on the sample powder. Alumina addition did increased the weight loss percentage and reaction rate of the pellet while silica addition decreased the weight loss percentage and reaction rate of the pellet.
