    Abstract
The study on the effect of winding angle on the mechanical properties of the kenaf/glass fiber epoxy hybrid composite was successfully conducted. In this paper, epoxy matrix, kenaf and glass fiber were selected as the raw materials of the filament winding composite materials. The composite samples were prepared at 2 different winding angle which are 450 and 900, wounded at the fix 4 layer for all types of composite. The mechanical properties of the samples were determined by using several testing including tensile test, compression test and flexural test. The morphological of fracture surface of the composite samples were analyzed by using Scanning Electron Microscope and physical properties were determined by using water absorption test, density test. It was found, different winding angle does give significant effect on the mechanical properties of the composite sample which winding angle of 450 exhibit higher mechanical properties compared to winding angle of 900. Hybrid composite has increase the flexural strength of the epoxy/kenaf fiber composite but reducing the tensile strength and compression strength of the composite. Generally, composite with winding angle of 450 was selected as optimum angle due to its good performance in mechanical and physical properties.
